Our Facilities
Our clean, attractive Child Development Centers divide the children into developmentally appropriate learning environments.
Infant Area
- Designed for infants up to 18 months
- Equipment available for play time and nap time
- Daily outside play or walks, weather permitting
- Developmental play designed to suit individual child’s growth in large motor, fine motor, language, cognitive, and social-emotional skills
Toddler Area
- Designed for toddlers up to 3 years
- Child size furniture and open shelving enhance self-help skills
- Area Centers allow one-to-one and small group activities
- Activities are child-oriented
- Continued development of large motor, fine motor, language, cognitive, and social-emotional skills
- Parents are encouraged to participate in classroom activities, field trips, and special events
Preschool Area
- Designed for children from 3 to 5 years old
- Hands on learning centers and manipulatives
- Ample space to develop large motor skills
- Learning activities center on memorable themes
- Activities designed to prepare children for kindergarten
School-age Area (Georgetown campus only)
- Designed for children Kindergarten through 12 years
- Hands on learning opportunities
- Indoor and outdoor activities
- Learning activities to promote a positive sense of self, problem solving, and leadership strategies
Infant Room
Infants are fed, put down to rest, or involved in developmental play according to their individual routines in either the Orange Room or the Purple Room.
Toddler Area
Toddlers are divided into two rooms, the Green Room and the Yellow Room. Each room is designed to provide the most effective learning environment for toddlers. All the toys and materials are selected to encourage development, curiosity, and creativity. Activities develop the toddler’s social skills, pre-math skills, pre-reading skills, pre-writing skills, and motor skills.
Preschool Area
These children are divided into two groups.
- The Blue Room introduces the young pre-schoolers to a classroom environment that is structured yet flexible to individual needs and nurturing.
- The Red Room provides the most effective learning environment for pre-kindergartners. Activities and materials develop necessary readiness skills for kindergarten.
Gross Motor Skills Areas
Both an indoor playroom and an outdoor playground encourage large Motor development. These areas allow children to ride bikes, enjoy parachute play, practice throwing and catching balls, encourage social interaction, and have fun. All lesson plans and activities follow the guidelines of Creative Curriculum and the Delaware Department of Education’s Delaware Early Learning Foundations for School Success.
Infant Room
This area is designed for infants from 6 weeks to 12-15 months.
Toddler Area
The Little Sprout Room accommodates ages 12-15 months to 2 years.
The Butterfly Room is designed for ages 2-3 years.
Preschool Area
Two classrooms designed for ages 3-5 years
- Garden Preschool 3 to 4 years
- Sunshine Preschool 4 to 5 years
School-age Area
This area is designed for ages Kindergarten - 12 years
Childcare is not available at the Stanton Campus
Infant Room
Accommodates up to 6 infants from age 3 months to 18 months
Toddler Room
Accommodates up to 10 toddlers from age 18-36 months
Preschool Area
Accommodates up to 20 children from age 3 – 5 years
Divided into two separate spaces:
- The Green Room focuses on hands-on learning centers with language based activities, math concepts, fine motor development, technology, and many manipulatives.
- The Pink Room provides an indoor setting for developing large motor skills. The children enjoy dramatic play, blocks, sensory and easel painting in this room.
